Guwahati: An 11-years-old girl was allegedly raped by a 70-years-old man in Lakhimpur district’s Gendhali area.
The incident allegedly took place on July 14 when the girl had gone to the Namghar field to bring her cattle herding there.
However, the “Namghariya” of the Namghar, Kukheswar Dutta lured the girl inside the Namghar premises and then he allegedly raped her. Following this, the villagers had noticed Dutta and the girl. The villagers came to check on the issue and then they found Dutta “red-handed”.
Following this, the victim’s mother filed an FIR, and police based on the complaint and preliminary investigation arrested the accused.
It has also been reported that the accused had allegedly raped the girl multiple times earlier.
