Guwahati: An Assam Cadre IPS officer, Anurag Tankha passed away on Monday after losing his battle to cancer.
Tankha was an Inspector General and was on deputation to the Bureau of Police Research and Development. Tankha was a 1995 batch officer.
Assam Chief Minister Himanat Biswa Sarma in a tweet said, “I’m deeply saddened by the demise of distinguished senior IPS officer Anurag Tankha (Assam cadre) after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was on deputation to the Bureau of Police Research and Development as IG. My prayers for his moksha and condolences to his family members.”
