Assam: Daylight bank robbery in Sonari, Rs 20 lakh looted from vehicle

Guwahati: In a daring robbery incident that took place in Assam’s Sonari in broad daylight, leaving residents stunned.

A thief snatched approximately Rs 20 lakh from a vehicle that was being held up in the city.

The stolen amount Rs 19,60,000 was being transported from the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Sonari to Green Ply in Nagaland.

The incident occurred when the vehicle carrying the cash was stopped in the middle of the city.

The robber immediately took advantage of the situation and made off with the substantial sum.

Authorities from Green Ply of Nagaland have informed the Sonari police about the incident, and an investigation is underway.

The Sonari police are actively working to track down the culprit and recover the stolen amount.

The incident has raised concerns about security measures in the city, and the police are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the robbery.
