One arrested along with 50 packets of Ya ba
Guwahati: The Dhubri Police along with a team of the CRPF on Saturday night arrested a suspect drug peddler who had alleged possessed contraband drugs worth Rs 10 Lakh.
The arrested person has been identified as Rafikul Islam of Dhubri’s Gauripur.
As per police officials, the operation team raided Islam’s house based on a specific input that he was allegedly dealing with contraband drugs. The police while raiding his house recovered 50 packets of YABA tablets and 200 containers of suspected brown sugar.
The market worth of the seized drugs is said to be around Rs 10 lakh but further verification on that is underway.
The police also claimed that they have also recovered Rs 2.2 lakh in cash from the accused. As of now the accused is being interrogated by the police to track further leads in the seized items and also to find his links with people relating to a larger group of the illegal drug trade.
