Guwahati: A viral video is doing the rounds on social media where it was seen that a journalist from Uttar Pradesh was brutally thrashed by the Chief Development Officer (CDO) while the journalist was covering the block polls.
The journalist named Krishna Tiwari was allegedly beaten up by CDO Divyanshu Patel along with some BJP workers.
The video of the incident went viral on social media. Following this, the journalist informed that he was thrashed when he was reporting from a polling center in the area named Bangarmau of the district.
He added, “Despite knowing him Patel continued to beat him along with some BJP workers and leader.”

Now, Tiwari is demanding strict action in the matter.
Committee Against Assault on Journalists (CAAJ) also tweeted on the matter, “Journalist Krishna Tiwari from Unnao, UP beaten mercilessly in broad daylight by IAS officer and ruling party members. Journalists in Unnao protested against this high-handedness.”
