Guwahati: A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a young woman by the Hyderabad police on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Basavaraj and the incident took place in Greater Hyderabad at the woman’s residence.
According to reports, the accused stabbed the woman around 18 times after the victim refused to marry him. Basavaraj was angry at the woman for getting engaged to another man named Shridhar two months ago.
Meanwhile, the victim was identified as Shirisha and she was admitted to a hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.
However, both the accused and the victim are resident of Daulatabad area of Vikarabad district.
It may be mentioned that the two were in a relationship and further investigation into the matter is underway.
