Guwahati: Madan Kalita, a Former Congress MLA leader passed away at Guwahati on Friday night.
He was the former MLA from Nalbari constituency.
He was elected as the Congress MLA from Nalbari in 2001.
According to reports, Kalita suffered a stroke and breathed his last in Guwahati.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed grief over Kalita’s demise.
“The passing away of former Nalbari MLA Madan Kalita has deeply saddened me. He will always be remembered for his contribution to overall development of his constituency. My condolences to the bereaved. Praying for his sadgati. Om Shanti!” Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

However, the death of the former MLA has cast a shadow over Nalbari constituency.
