Youth dies of electrocution in Assam’s Rangiya
Guwahati: A youth was allegedly killed due to electrocution in Kamrup district of Assam on Thursday.
The incident took place in the Rangiya city of the district.
The deceased identified as Ibrahim Ali who is a resident of Kachari Solmari village of the city.
According to reports, Ali was an employee of Shree Northeast Connect & Services, a Wifi internet service provider company.
Ali was reportedly electrocuted while connecting the company’s internet wires, which caused his death.
However, the public and his family protested against the firm at the Rangia Police Station as a result of his death.
The demonstrators claimed that some internet and cable TV firms were allowing minors to work on electricity poles without the permission of the electrical authority.
It may be mentioned that two contractors identified as Mehdi Alam and Parth Haraniya fled from the area after the incident.
