West Bengal: Brown Sugar worth Rs 2.1 Crs seized, 4 held
Guwahati: In an initiative to make the country drugs free the West Bingal Police recovered Brown sugar worth Rs. 2.1 crore in Siliguri, West Bengal, and four persons have been arrested in connection with it.
According to reports, following a tip off from sources the police launched a search operation in which they recovered around one kilogram of suspected brown sugar and detained at least four suspects, two each from Murshidabad and Nadia districts.
Moreover, the police informed that the accused were detained at Porajhar in the New Jalpaiguri police station area.
It may be mentioned that the apprehended guys were members of a narcotics cartel and were distributing drugs to various districts of north Bengal.
Meanwhile, a legal action has been initiated and further investigation is underway.
