Guwahati: In a latest development, the Assam Police have arrested 21 people including seventeen woman in connection with the recent Batadrava mob violence case in Assam’s Nagaon district.
Three people were arrested by Nagaon Police on Saturday evening (May 21) in connection with the incident in which a crowd burned down the Batadrava Police Station.
Following the death of local fish merchant Safikul Islam, who was detained on May 20, an incensed mob carried out the attack.
It needs to be mentioned that the station in -charge of Batadrava police station identified as Kumud Gogoi was also suspended with immediate effect over the death of Safikul Islam in custody.
