Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma visits Darrang; reviews situation in flood
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the flood and landslide-hit Assam’s Darrang district and reviewed the situation on Saturday.
The chief minister visited the breached portion of Nonoi RB Embankment near Dipila at Patharughat of the district and interacted with the inmates there.
He further reviewed the relief measures by Water Resources Dept and has also directed officials to repair the embankment as soon as the flood recedes.
Sarma also urged MLA Paramananda Rajbongshi to prepare a list of the people whose houses have been damaged by the floods.
This will enable us to reach out to them with relief and rehabilitation measures, Sarma added.
