Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman who is a mother of two children in Nagarbera under Assam’s Kamrup district on last Monday.
The incident took place at Jamlai village of Nagarbera.
According to reports, the accused identified as Akash Ali allgedly entered her residence when no one was there. The victim alleged that the accused dragged her into a thicket and committed the heinous crime.
An FIR was registered against Akash at the Nagarbera police station.
Reportedly, Ali had escaped after the woman filed the FIR but was apprehended four days after a high-level investigation was initiated.
It needs to be mentioned that Ali appeared before the court on Friday and he was sent to judicial custody.
