Guwahati: A police vehicle carrying Shraddha Walkar murder suspects was ambushed by a mob of men brandishing swords near Rohini in Delhi.
According to reports, Aftab Poonawala was being transported in the vehicle from a forensic science lab to jail following his polygraph examination.
The police were able to transport Aftab back to the jail without incident despite at least 15 men blocking the van outside the FSL office.
It was also stated that one of the police officers had to pull out his service pistol in order to prevent the situation from getting worse.
There were no injuries recorded during the incident.
It should be noted that Aftab Poonawala is charged with killing Shraddha Walkar, his live-in partner, and then dismembering and disposing of her body.
He had committed the crime in May this year but the incident only came to light in November based on an investigation by the police.
