Lok Sabha adjourned sine die 6 days ahead of schedule
Guwahati: The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Friday six days ahead of schedule. Depending on business needs, the session that started on December 7 was to conclude on December 29.
The Lok Sabha’s Business Advisory Council (BAC) meeting unanimously resolved to adjourn the winter session sine die on December 23, sources said on Tuesday.
In order to address the border clash between Indian and Chinese forces along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal, opposition parties regularly interrupted House proceedings.
There were five adjournments in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
The Business Advisory Committee has decided to adjourn the House sine die on Friday, according to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi who made the announcement during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha yesterday when opposition members were protesting and demanding a debate on the India-China border issue.
The Parliament’s Winter Session began on December 7 and was scheduled to last for 17 working days through December 29.
