Google Celebrates India’s R-Day with Doodle Containing Elements of Parade

Guwahati: An meticulously hand-cut paper piece created by Gujarat-based artist Parth Kothekar serves as the Google Doodle for India’s 74th Republic Day.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan, the India Gate, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) marching contingent and motorcycle riders are just a few of the items from the Republic Day parade that are included in the artwork.

With the passage of the Constitution on this date in 1950, India proclaimed itself a sovereign, democratic and republican state.

Following its 1947 liberation from the British Empire, India started drafting its Constitution.

The Indian Constituent Assembly debated, revised and adopted the constitution over the course of two years making India the nation with the longest Constitution.

By approving this text, democracy was made possible and Indian residents were given the ability to choose their own representatives.

The major parade honouring the national holiday is held at Kartavya Path, a ceremonial promenade in New Delhi while there are other parades taking place all around the nation.

Regiments of India’s armed forces and scenes symbolising its cultural and historical heritage march along the street following the ceremonial laying of wreaths in memory of dead troops.

The Beating Retreat ceremony takes place that evening, January 29, to wrap up the celebrations. The Indian National Anthem is played as the saffron, white, and green flag of India is unfurled.
