Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Bhupen Kumar Borah was unexpectedly called by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Thursday.
According to reports, discussions about forming an alliance with the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in the state are likely to take place.
Reportedly, certain Congress officials are considering the regional party AIUDF as a potential ally.
The group of Congress leaders wants to create an alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha general elections in 2024.
The president of the Congress’ Assam state unit Bhupen Borah has immediately left for Delhi in response to the AICC summons.
