Assam: Pregnant Woman Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances in Lakhimpur

Guwahati: A pregnant woman was found dead in her residence on Saturday morning in the Bhatihuj village of Dhakuakhana under the Lakhimpur district. Her death was shrouded in mystery.

However, family members of the deceased identified as Rinkumoni Das said that her death was a case murder and blamed her husband Kushal Das and his family for killing her over a family quarrel.

Speaking to the media, father of the deceased woman said, “My daughter was choked to death by her husband and his family members and tried to pass it off as a case of suicide. We have lodged a police complaint against all the family members.”

The husband and his brother were taken into custody by the Dhakuakhana police for questioning while the case was being registered.

It should be noted that the case has attracted attention at a time when fresh evidence is emerging in the horrifying case of the Guwahati twin murders.

The Guwahati Police conducted further search operations in Dawki of Meghalaya on Saturday in order to locate the deceased in the horrific twin murder case of Noonmati.

Bondona Kalita, the prime accused in the bone-chilling twin murder case along with her two accomplices Arup Deka and Dhanjit Deka are being taken to Dawki to carry out search operations.

Bondona had previously been shifted to the police station in Noonmati. She was under the custody of the Panbazar All Women Police Station. Dhanjit and Arup Deka were taken into custody and sent to the Noonmati police station.

The machete used in the murder case was sent for a forensic analysis on Friday.

During search operations that were launched on Thursday, the Guwahati police were able to recover the sharp machete from Bondajan beel.
