Assam: Head-On Collision at Jagiroad, 15 Injured
Guwahati: As many as 15 people were injured in a tragic road accident at Jagiroad under Morigaon district of Assam.
The incident was reported near Nagaon Paper Mill which is located along National Highway 37 on the Guwahati-Nagaon highway.
According to reports, the injuries were caused by a traveler vehicle on the highway colliding head-on with an approaching truck.
No casualty was reported at the time of filing this report.
The injured were sent immediately after the incident to the Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital for further treatment.
Later, local police arrived at the location to assess the situation.
Recently, a terrible road accident took place near Garmur in Assam’s Bokakhat which claimed the lives of two bikers.
A fast bike collided with a roadside pole and caused the mishap. Both riders flung off their bikes as a result of the collision’s strong impact which also caused them to suffer grave injuries.
The injured bikers were immediately taken to the closest hospital where medical staff pronounced them dead.
The motorbike that was involved in the collision has the licence plate AS-05-S-8851. The bike struck the post while being driven at a very high pace, according to witnesses.
The accident caused a massive commotion in the area, with several locals rushing to the spot to help the victims.
