Road Accident in Mizoram’s Mamit, 5 Killed
Guwahati: As many as five people were killed and six others were injured in a road accident in Mamit district of Mizoram.
According to reports, the accident took place when a pickup truck heading from Rajiv nagar to Marpara collided with another truck in West Phaileng town of Mizoram.
Reportedly, three people died on spot and two others died due to injuries after being taken to a government hospital.
Moreover, a total of six critically injured people were admitted to the Civil hospital in Aizawl.
The deceased have been identified as Dev Kumar Chakma, Bonomota, Ayushi Chakma, Siki Chakma and Kajola.
Young Mizo Association members and the top NGO in Mizoram came forwarded to save the victims.
According to the police, the two trucks collided as they were negotiating a road turn.
