Jammu and Kashmir: Army Chopper Crashed Near Kishtwar, Pilots Injured
Guwahati, 4 May: An Indian Army helicopter with three persons on board crashed on Thursday in a forested area in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Marwah area of the hill district while the rescue teams were rushed immediately to the crash site.
Reportedly, Rescue crews were dispatched right away to the scene following the incident.
Indian Army said that an ALH Dhruv helicopter on an operational mission attempted to land cautiously on the banks of the Marua river in the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir after informing the air traffic controller (ATC) of a technical issue.
“Due to the undulating ground, undergrowth and unprepared landing area, the helicopter apparently made a hard landing,” Northern Command of the Indian Army said in a statement.
