Today is World Bicycle Day 2023
Guwahati, 3 June: Cycling is very important to keep the body healthy. The best form of exercise is cycling. World Health Organization says cycling is very beneficial for health. World Bicycle Day is celebrated every year on June 3. There are many objectives behind celebrating this day.
There is no harm to the environment due to cycling and there are many benefits to the body. In today’s era many are using bicycles to keep themselves fit. It keeps weight under control and also strengthens the muscles (World Bicycle Day 2023). World Bicycle Day has started from April 2018. The United Nations General Assembly has decided to celebrate June 3 as World Bicycle Day. Since then Cycle Day has been celebrated all over the world on June 3.
The use of vehicles is also decreasing day by day which also affects health. Apart from this, the environment has also become polluted due to the use of vehicles plying on petrol and diesel. Bicycles are the best option in such a situation. It has a good effect on health as opposed to not polluting the environment. Bicycles become a means of transport for everyone who cannot afford vehicles.
However, today the younger generation uses bicycles to keep themselves fit even after earning more. This reduces the chances of a heart attack and diabetes etc are also under control.
History of bicycle: In the 18th century people got the idea of using bicycles in European countries. For the first time in 1816 an artist discovered a bicycle in Paris. Earlier the wheel was called a wheel or a car horse. Foot pedal wheels were later invented in 1865. After that more work has been done on it. Gradually the bicycle was fully developed followed by the formation of the bicycle.
Benefits of cycling: The direct and indirect effects of cycling have on the body. At first the body becomes fit and the weight is lost. The chances of developing diabetes are reduced and the chances of a heart attack also becomes low.
