Guwahati: Ashok Singhal Visits Rajgarh Water Pipe Burst Site

Guwahati, 13 June: Assam’s Minister of Housing, Urban Affairs and Irrigation Ashok Singhal on Tuesday visited to the Rajgarh pipe burst site which is near Guwahati Commerce College. The minister visited the site to inspect the repair work and gave the officials instructions to guarantee that the work should be finished right away and that the impacted residents received assistance.

A newly erected Guwahati Jal Board water pipeline that was near Commerce College Link Road burst on Tuesday causing a significant downpour in the area. Shortly after the incident was reported, a team from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) arrived on the location and worked there till the water gusher was contained.

Following the incident, the clergyman demanded a crucial meeting of all senior Guwahati Jal Board officials. He gave the concerned officials three days to give a thorough report on the occurrence.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)-funded water delivery project at Kharguli Guwahati was visited by Ashok Singhal as well.

There were reportedly no JICA water supply works staff present when the minister visited Kharguli. Ashok Singhal warned everyone involved strongly and said it was not acceptable for those in charge of overseeing the important project to be so negligent. He further asserted that the right steps would be taken in relation to this matter.
