Guwahati Jal Board Water Pipe Bursts in Rajgarh

Guwahati,12 June: Days after the fatal Kharguli water pipe tragedy in Guwahati, another pipeline burst on Monday afternoon in the Rajgarh area. The incident has been reported in RG Baruah Road near Guwahati Commerce College. According to video that have gone around, the water is seen spilling to a high level.

According to reports, Guwahati Jal Board’s freshly erected water pipeline ruptured near the Rajgarh Road Near Commerce College Link Road causing chaos among residents.

There were no known casualties or injuries as a result of the incident. However, a number of expensive properties have been damaged.

An Assam State Disaster Management Authority team has arrived at the scene and work is being done to stop the water gush.

earlier, a pipe in the Gammon JICA water supply main line bursted in Kharguli area of Guwahati at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The burst resulted in a huge water gush that damaged at least 40 homes and washed away several vehicles. Over 600 persons are said to have been impacted by the tragedy.

According to reports, a women lost her life in the tragedy who have been identified as Sumitra Rabha. She lived in one of the homes that the water surged and ruined. Meanwhile, the injured were taken to the local hospitals. The area has been closed off by the police who are also investigating the reason behind the tragedy.
