CBI team reaches Assam to probe Junmoni Rabha’s death
Guwahati, 15 June: A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reached Assam and took over the probe the mysterious death of Assam Police”s Sub Inspector Junmoni Rabha.
The CBI team led by IPS officer Lovely Katiyar visited Guwahati CBI office last night and left for Jakhalabandha on Thursday morning to visit the place of occurrence.
Assam Director General of Police, G P Singh had earlier informed that the CBI who will probe Junmoni Rabha’s death. Accordingly, the team started operations on Thursday to investigate the death of SI Junmoni Rabha.
Junmoni Rabha, an SI with the Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) was found dead after her car collided head on with a truck on NH 37near Jakhalabandha who was involved in a number of issues before was killed in a road accident in Kaliabor in the Nagaon district of Assam.
The truck which collided head on with the truck bear registration number “UP 78UT 4518.”
According to reports, the accident’s massive force caused the car to be completely smashed. Local police arrived on the scene and immediately took her to Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital for medical treatment but upon arrival, the hospital’s staff pronounced her dead.
Following the accident of Rabha, many raised suspicion over the way the accident took place and alleged foul play. The Assam police have shunted most of the police officials from the district including the Superintendent of Police after the death of Rabha and the conspiracy theories started doing the rounds.
