One killed, 15 injured in road mishaps in Assam
Guwahati, 29 June: At least 15 people including children were injured after a passenger bus ran off the road and fell into a pond on Thursday at Sipajhar in Darrang district of Assam.
According to reports, the incident took place on national highway 15 in Sipajhar. Moreover, there were 22 passengers in the bus.
The passenger bus, with the licence plate AS 25 AC 8699 lost control and fell into a pond at the side of the road. Although no casualties were reported, several passengers were injured.
Earlier, a youth was killed in a tragic road accident in Bokakhat of Assam.
As per reports, a pick-up vehicle and a truck collided head-on in the Latabari village of Bokakhat subdivision in Assam’s Golaghat district near an Indian Oil petrol pump. The incident occurred on the night in between Monday and Tuesday.
Reportedly, the accident resulted in the immediate death of a youth while three others sustained injuries. The deceased was identified as Nirmal Ram Kumar, a resident of Uttar Prradesh.
Meanwhile, those injured were sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.
