Meta’s new Threads app sees slew of prominent Indians joining on Day 1
Entertainment desk, 7 July: In the world of social media, there has been quite the stir since Meta, the parent company of Instagram launched Threads, a new app. Bollywood celebrities have taken an immediate interest in this app, eagerly joining the platform and participating in fascinating conversations. A buzz has already been raised around Threads by celebrities like Sunny Leone, Tamannaah Bhatia, Parineeti Chopra, and Diljit Dosanjh.
Sunny Leone made a good first impression on Threads by introducing herself with a photo of herself in a swimsuit from a recent vacation. “She jokingly said, “Just setting up my thread,” as she shared the stunning image with her followers.
The blunt Parineeti Chopra confessed her initial scepticism and joy regarding the app. “Does anyone else feel like it’s the first day of school when you don’t understand what’s going on but are still excited?” she said. Is this just me? “All right, #HelloThreads.”
Diljit Dosanjh, on the other hand, kept things straightforward by just stating, “Landed on Threads,” to signify his presence there.
Another Bollywood star, Tamannaah Bhatia joined up on the app and eagerly wrote, “I’m th(ready) for this #Let’sgo.”
More than 10 million downloads of Threads took place in less than seven hours after its official debut, creating a frenzy. In his vision for Threads, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated his desire to create a platform for public discourse with more over 1 billion users. Although Twitter has the ability to do so, he acknowledged that they had not fully tapped into it. Zuckerberg is still certain that Threads will satisfy this need.
