The first small version of the semi-high-speed train in the state will have eight coaches including one executive chair car and seven with air conditioning.

Rajputana and Ahmedabad, a city associated with Mahatma Gandhi will have better connectivity with  the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express. Cities along the route that the train will connect include Pali, Abu Road, Palanpur and Mehsana.

The popular tourist attractions in the ancient cities of Jodhpur and Ahmedabad will profit from this.

On February 15, 2019, the Prime Minister flagged off the start of the inaugural Vande Bharat Express, which runs between New Delhi and Varanasi. The train set which was produced at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is a representation of the ‘Make-In-India’ movement and demonstrates India’s engineering prowess.

The effort to produce domestic semi-high-speed train sets got under way in mid 2017 and ICF Chennai finished Train-18 in 18 months. In order to emphasise that it was manufactured in India, India’s first semi-high-speed train was dubbed Vande Bharat Express in January 2019. The train’s top speed between Kota and Sawai Madhopur was 180 kph.
