Guwahati, 30th August: The female police officer at the center of allegations of torturing her house-help in Nazira has been transferred to the Assam Police Headquarters, according to a statement by Director General of Assam Police (DGP) GP Singh on Wednesday.
The police officer in question has been identified as Subhalakshmi Dutta, who held the position of Additional Superintendent of Police (Border) Charaideo. She stands accused of inflicting torment upon her maid by scalding her with hot water.
Following the revelation of the incident, a criminal case was initiated against the police personnel. Additionally, the Assam Police Headquarters instigated an inquiry into the accusations that have been made.
