Expelled Congress Youth Leader Summoned by CBI in Saradha Scam Case
Guwahati, 30th August: Angkita Dutta, the former Congress Youth leader who was recently expelled, has been called in by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday. Dutta, daughter of the late veteran Congress leader Anjan Dutta, has been instructed to present herself before the CBI court today as part of the ongoing investigation into the Saradha Scam.
Angkita Dutta, who holds the position of director at Anubhuti Printers and Publications Pvt Ltd, a company linked to Saradha Publications Pvt Ltd, received the CBI summons in connection with a funding case related to the printing of the Bengali newspaper ‘Sakalbela’ at a press in Guwahati during the period spanning 2012-2013.
Notably, Dutta was expelled from the party after she failed to substantiate her allegations against Indian Youth Congress chief BV Srinivas of harassment. The expulsion came after the party issued a show cause notice and was dissatisfied with her response.
