Central Government to Introduce Resolution to Rename India as ‘Republic of Bharat’

National Desk, 5th September: In anticipation of the upcoming special parliamentary session scheduled for later this month, reports suggest that the central government is planning to present a fresh resolution to rename India as ‘Republic of Bharat’.

According to a report it indicates that the government will introduce a bill to this effect during the forthcoming special session of Parliament. It is expected that the bill will be tabled during the session. Also, the Rashtrapati Bhawan sent out invites for a G20 dinner in the name of the President of Bharat instead of the President of India.

Furthermore, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hinted at this development in a recent post on his Twitter account, adding to the anticipation surrounding this proposed change.
