CBI Team Arrives in Imphal to Investigate Kidnapping and Killing of Students

Northeast Desk, 27th September: A specialized team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), led by Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar, has arrived in Imphal, Manipur, on a mission to investigate the “kidnapping and killing” of two students amidst the recent violence in the region.

Sources have confirmed that this dedicated CBI team, accompanied by Special Director Bhatnagar, reached the state today via a special flight. Additionally, Joint Director Ghanshyam Upadhyay, who has been stationed in Imphal, will also be joining the team.

The CBI team is reportedly composed of officers with expertise in various areas, including special crime investigation, crime scene recreation, interrogation, and technical surveillance.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh had previously informed the public about the impending visit of the CBI team to the state. He also assured the people that both the state and central governments are closely collaborating to apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime. The investigation aims to shed light on the tragic incident and bring the culprits to justice.
