Guwahati, 18th January: In a tragic incident, an employee of Railway Department was run over by a speeding train in Khetri at Assam’s Kamrup on January 18.
The incident took place in Dimoria of the district.
The victim identified as Haren Deka, was hit by the Kanchenjunga Express while he was working on the railway track.
Following the incident, Railway police immediately arrived at the spot and arranged the body for post-mortem.
As per sources, Deka was a resident of Barjhari in Jagiroad.
Local residents are urging a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the cause and implement necessary measures to prevent similar accidents in the future. This loss has left the community mourning and underscores the importance of ensuring the safety of railway workers.
