Northeast Desk, 17th April: In a recent press conference held in Itanagar, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took the opportunity to reflect on his decade-long tenure, shedding light on his significant contributions to the development of Arunachal Pradesh. Accompanied by Techi Kaso, the uncontested MLA of Itanagar, Rijiju elaborated on several achievements and initiatives undertaken during his time in office.

Central to Rijiju’s address was the focus on bolstering infrastructure in border areas, particularly the construction of vital highways such as the Trans Arunachal Highway. He emphasized the importance of improving road connectivity to remote border villages, thereby facilitating economic growth and accessibility.

Furthermore, Rijiju highlighted initiatives aimed at rural development, including the implementation of vibrant village program schemes. These initiatives, he noted, have played a crucial role in fostering grassroots development and empowering local communities.

Addressing sensitive issues such as the Chakma refugee problem and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Rijiju reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges with prudence and sensitivity. He called upon the Assam government to collaborate in identifying suitable relocation sites for refugees, thereby mitigating tensions and ensuring the welfare of all communities.

Moreover, Rijiju touched upon the role of the Christian Forum in politics, expressing concern over their inclination to vote exclusively for Christian candidates. He stressed the importance of inclusivity and urged for a broader perspective in electoral choices, advocating for representation that transcends religious affiliations.

In summary, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju provided a comprehensive overview of his tenure’s accomplishments and initiatives, addressing a wide range of developmental, social, and political issues relevant to Arunachal Pradesh.
