Assam: St. Paul High School in Tinsukia Sealed Amid Unrest Over Student’s Death

Guwahati, 1st August: Authorities have sealed St. Paul High School in Lekhapani, Tinsukia, following unrest triggered by the mysterious death of a Class 10 student at the school’s hostel. The situation intensified, leading to police intervention with tear gas to manage the agitated crowd.

The school’s principal, along with students who were present at Chhatra Basti on the night of the incident, are currently being questioned by the police. The deceased student’s body has been sent to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for a comprehensive autopsy to determine the cause of death.

In addition to the incident, the Margherita administration has expressed concern over the poor conditions of the school’s student accommodations, indicating a broader problem with the institution’s infrastructure.
