Northeast Desk, 8th August: The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) have identified over 408 vehicles with unauthorized black or tinted window films between July 14 and August 1, 2024. This crackdown is part of an enforcement effort under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, has reminded motorists that using black films violates a Supreme Court directive from Writ Petition (Civil) No. 265 of 2011, which bans such films on vehicle windshields and side windows.
The SP stressed that strict legal action will be taken against those found in violation, underscoring the need for adherence to traffic regulations to ensure the safety and security of all road users.
