Meghalaya Police Warn of Misleading Videos Spreading False Information About Indo-Bangladesh Border

Northeast Desk, 9th August: Meghalaya police have issued a warning regarding misleading videos circulating on social media that falsely depict large crowds at the Indo-Bangladesh border and claim to show atrocities in the area.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the police clarified, “Fake videos are circulating on social media, falsely showing huge crowds gathered along the border, claiming it to be ours.” They emphasized that these videos are deceptive and intended to spread misinformation.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and critical thinking when encountering such content online. The police assured that the claims made in these videos are entirely baseless and do not represent the current reality at the border.
