Former Manipur MLA’s Wife Killed in Bomb Attack at Kangpokpi Residence

Northeast Desk, 11th August: The Saikul region in Manipur was rocked by tragedy on August 10 when miscreants targeted the residence of former MLA Yamthong Haokip, leading to the death of his wife. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns over safety and security in the area.

The attack occurred when unidentified individuals planted an explosive device at Haokip’s home in Kangpokpi. The resulting blast inflicted severe injuries on Haokip’s wife, who was present at the residence at the time. Despite the swift response from medical personnel, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital.

Fortunately, Yamthong Haokip and his daughter, who were also in the house during the explosion, escaped the attack unharmed. The incident has prompted an urgent investigation by the authorities under the Saikul Police Station, who are working to uncover the identities and motives of the attackers.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the authorities are exploring all possible angles as they intensify their search for those responsible.
