Tripura CM Manik Saha Announces New Rubber Park in Santirbazar to Boost Industrial Growth
Northeast Desk, 24th September: During the Tripura Rubber Conclave-2024 held in Agartala, Chief Minister Manik Saha announced plans to establish a new rubber park in Santirbazar, South Tripura District, to further enhance the state’s industrial landscape. Highlighting Tripura’s status as the second-largest rubber producer in India, contributing 9% of the country’s output, Saha noted the park will complement the existing facility in Bodhjungnagar.
The event showcased Tripura’s internationally recognized rubber quality, creating numerous industrial opportunities, including rubber wood furniture manufacturing, which is gaining both local and export market traction. Chief Minister Saha also unveiled a booklet, “Transforming Tripura: The Land of Opportunities,” promoting the state’s industrial potential.
The conclave featured successful entrepreneurs in the rubber industry and presentations on the sector’s development. The state government is actively courting investors, focusing on the rubber, bamboo, and food processing industries, with specialized industrial areas in development.
Key attendees included Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma and Chief Secretary JK Sinha, reaffirming Tripura’s commitment to leveraging its natural resources for economic growth.
