Security Forces Seize Weapons in Manipur Amid Statewide Security Operations
Manipur – In a major security initiative, Manipur’s security forces have intensified search and area domination efforts across the state’s hill and valley districts, with a focus on securing vulnerable areas and maintaining stability amidst ongoing unrest.
During a significant operation in Panjang village, situated on the Thangjing ridge in Churachandpur District, a substantial cache of weapons was uncovered. The seized arsenal includes two 8-foot rockets, two 7-foot rockets, two large country-made mortars, a medium-sized country-made mortar, three improvised mortar bombs, a radio set, and two country-made grenades.
These heightened operations aim to secure high-risk regions, ensuring safe passage for essential supplies. As part of this effort, security forces facilitated the transit of 201 vehicles on NH-37 and 351 on NH-2, providing convoy escorts in particularly sensitive zones to prevent potential disruptions.
In addition, 109 checkpoints were established across Manipur’s hill and valley districts, reflecting the comprehensive approach taken by security forces to curb violations. Eight individuals were detained across various districts for alleged breaches, underscoring the state’s strong commitment to enforcing law and order.
Through coordinated operations, Manipur’s security forces remain dedicated to recovering weapons, securing critical transport routes, and maintaining stability in the region as they work to restore normalcy amidst ongoing tensions.
