Gaurav Gogoi Urges Government to Address Critical National Issues Ahead of Winter Session
Assam: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has called on the government to prioritize addressing urgent national concerns during the upcoming winter session of Parliament.
Speaking ahead of a pivotal INDIA alliance meeting at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s office, Gogoi stressed that the government must not sidestep pressing issues impacting the country.
“My sole request to the government is to not evade the severe issues impacting the nation, such as the economy, social justice, law and order,” said Gogoi. He emphasized that the winter session should not focus solely on passing legislation but also facilitate substantive discussions on challenges faced by citizens.
Gogoi pointed to critical topics like the Adani controversy, the ongoing unrest in Manipur, the distress of farmers, and the struggles faced by scheduled castes, urging Parliament to actively engage with these issues. He underscored the role of Parliament as a forum for meaningful dialogue, emphasizing that legislative action must be complemented by addressing public concerns through open debate.
The INDIA alliance, formed to counter the BJP in upcoming elections, is expected to outline its unified approach during the meeting, with Gogoi’s comments signaling a focus on holding the government accountable on key national issues.
