Arunachal Pradesh Deputy CM Releases ‘Orchids of Arunachal Pradesh’ Book
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on January 17 released a new book titled Orchids of Arunachal Pradesh at his residence in Itanagar, accompanied by Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom.
The book, authored by Krishna Chowlu, Sudhansu Shekhar Dash from the Botanical Survey of India, and botanist Jambey Tsering, showcases the state’s incredible orchid diversity. It includes an updated checklist of 657 species and over 810 photographs, providing valuable insights into orchid habitats, life forms, and conservation efforts.
With Arunachal Pradesh being recognized as the ‘Orchid Paradise of India,’ the book highlights its rich botanical heritage. Deputy CM Mein congratulated the authors for their remarkable work and thanked MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom for his financial support in the book’s publication. Mein emphasized the importance of preserving the state’s natural heritage to inspire future generations.
