Guwahati: The All-Assam Journalists’ Union (AAJU) has honoured five prominent Assamese journalists with four distinguished prizes.
Prashanta Jyoti Baruah received the coveted Radhika Mohan Bhagawati award, Wasbir Hussain received the Prafulla Chandra Baruah award, Pranjal Sen Deka received the Hari Barman award, and Sonit Kumar Bhuyan and Gautam Sarmah received the Manik Deuri award.
The prize was presented by Biswajit Daimary, Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, with special guests including famous journalist Samudra Gupta Kashyap and state cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika.
The prize includes a Gamosa, Angabastra, Xorai, citation, and Rs. 10,000 in cash.
Sonit Kumar Bhuyan and Pranjal Sen Deka presented AAJU trust with a monetary donation of Rs 10,000.
