AASU: CAA protest will continue, put on hold due to COVID19
Guwahati: All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Adviser Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya remarked on Friday that the CAA protests has never stopped and will never stop.
Talking about the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assertion that the CAA will be implemented at any costs, Bhattacharya stated that the protest has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 crisis and examinations.
“The complaint has been launched on the problem before the Supreme Court,” Bhattacharya told the media. The court ordered that the North East be investigated separately. In Assam, indigenous people should have the upper hand. The indigenous people should have decisive power.”
He went on to say that Assam cannot accept responsibility for Hindu-Muslims who arrived after 1971.
Bhattacharya further stated that if the government is planning to implement CAA, protest will continue in the state.
