Guwahati, 31st August: Less than 24 hours after the inauguration of the Nilachal flyover in Guwahati’s Maligaon area, an accident occurred on the flyover involving a truck and a waste collection cart owned by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC).
According to sources, the truck was traveling at a high speed and collided with the waste collection cart from behind. The impact caused the cart to overturn. The GMC worker operating the cart sustained minor injuries.
Local authorities, including the Jalukbari police, quickly arrived at the scene and seized the truck responsible for the accident.
The incident took place on Thursday morning, just hours after the flyover’s inauguration, leading to traffic congestion on the flyover.
