After Batha, 32 NLFB cadres come into Mainstream
Guwahati: After M Batha came into the mainstream discussions with 22 other cadres of the National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB), on Sunday 32 more cadres led by the platoon commander B Arpa had joined the mainstream.
The cadres of the outfit came back through the Jharbari of Kokrajhar district near the Assam-Bhutan Border.
Speaking on the issue, Chief of the NLFB M Batha stated that on Sunday 32 more cadres have come into the ceasefire, and further by Independence Day more such cadres will come into the peace talks or ceasefire. The team of the cadres is being led by Arpa.
It may be mentioned that earlier M Batha alias Binod Mushahary after coming back to mainstream claimed that he has not surrendered but has only announced a ceasefire.
After reports claiming that Batha had surrendered to the government, Batha claimed that he had not surrendered but instead, he along with his team has only come into a ceasefire.
Among the extremists who had laid their arms NLFB chief M Batha alias Binod Mushahary along with two of the top leaders B Bidai and B Birkhang. They were hiding in the jungles of Arunachal Pradesh and they along with a few more cadres of their outfit came into the mainstream where Bodoland Territorial Council chief Pramod Boro, water resources minister Pijush Hazarika, Chief Minister’s political secretary Jayanta Malla Baruah and special DGP (law and order) GP Singh were present.
However, after the claims of him surrendering, Batha stated that they (NLFB) has not surrendered and the report of them surrendering was baseless. “We have come into a ceasefire. The ceasefire will remain till talks related to the implementation are completed and further steps will be taken after that”, he added.
Batha further demanded the release of all their associates who are in jail.
He also added that a total of 22 cadres have come into the peace talks process and the NLFB will only be disbanded after the complete implementation of the BTR. “200 cadres will come down for the peace talks”, he added.
