Guwahati: Aimee Baruah, an actress turned filmmaker, made her Cannes debut this year and wowed the crowd on the red carpet. Baruah is the first Assamese actress to walk the red carpet at Cannes.

The actress turns heads as she walks the red carpet of Cannes2022 in a traditional mekhela chador.

Her ‘mekhela chador’ was combined with striking jewellery items that caught everyone’s attention! To look more natural, Baruah went with open side-parted hair, a nude lip, and little glam makeup. She donned a full-sleeve blouse with a plunging neckline.

Baruah’s directorial Semkhor – the first-ever Dimasa language film – garnered a positive response from moviegoers at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

The Film Festival is now taking place in France and it is widely considered as one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, honouring films and storytelling.
