Air India and Tata Group Unveil ‘Safety Mudra’ Inflight Video Celebrating Indian Culture
National Desk, 24th February: Air India, in collaboration with the Tata Group, has introduced a captivating new inflight safety video titled ‘Safety Mudra’. The video draws inspiration from India’s vibrant cultural heritage and traditional folk-art forms, aiming to captivate passengers while delivering crucial safety instructions.
The unveiling of ‘Safety Mudra’ was announced by Air India on X, emphasizing the historical significance of Indian classical dance and folk-art as storytelling and instructional mediums. The airline highlighted the video as a modern interpretation of these traditions, presenting inflight safety in a fresh narrative.
According to official statements, ‘Safety Mudra’ showcases eight distinct Indian dance forms, including Bharatnatyam, Bihu, Kathak, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Ghoomar, and Giddha. Each dance form is intricately woven into the safety instructions, offering passengers a culturally immersive and engaging experience.
The development of ‘Safety Mudra’ involved collaboration with esteemed individuals such as Prasoon Joshi from McCann Worldgroup, renowned musician Shankar Mahadevan, and acclaimed film director Bharatbala. Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India, expressed the video’s dual purpose of celebrating India’s cultural diversity while prioritizing passenger safety.
Initially available on Air India’s recently launched A350 aircraft, equipped with advanced inflight entertainment screens, ‘Safety Mudra’ will gradually extend to other aircraft in the fleet. This initiative signifies Air India’s commitment to both cultural appreciation and passenger safety in the aviation industry.
