Another landslide hits Noney in Manipur

Guwahati: Another landslide hit Tupul in Manipur’s Noney district on Saturday. This was informed by the Manipur Mountaineering and Tracking Association.

More rescue teams were sent to Tupul to improve the search and rescue efforts. Army, Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been conducting significant search and rescue operations since the calamity struck Tupul on June 29.

This occurs at a time when Manipur is still recovering from a previous landslide that struck the Tupul general area of Manipur and resulted in 24 deaths as of this writing.

The landslide occurred on Wednesday evening not far from the company position of the 107 Territorial Army of the Indian Army stationed close to Tupul Railway Station to guard the under-construction Jiribam to Imphal railway line. According to a release from PRO Defence in Guwahati, search efforts are still ongoing for the 26 civilians and 12 members of the Territorial Army who have gone missing.
