APDCL: Electricity Price Hike by Re 1 Per Unit

Guwahati: The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is ready to hammer the populace in the new year as it has proposed to increase electricity rates in the state by Re 1 per unit.

The Electricity Regulatory Commission received the proposal and today it will determine whether to approve the price increase.

According to reports, APDCL made the choice in order to guarantee a steady supply and offer customers improved services.

It should be noted that the tariffs were only recently increased by 30 paise per unit.

The APDCL agreed to increase the cost of electricity for all power users by 30 paise per unit with effect from November 2022.

Customers received instructions from the APDCL regarding this on December 9.

According to reports, the APDCL declared on November 25 of this year that it would levy a 79 pence per unit Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment (FPPPA) penalty on electricity bills for the months of November, December 2022 and January 2023 for all consumer categories.
