APPSC Paper Leak Case: Two More Arrested In Arunachal, Total 34 Held

Guwahati: Two more government officials has been arrested by the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police for allegedly being involvement in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak case.

The arrested persons have been identified as 28-year-old Sige Gamlin, Assistant Engineer of the Public Works Department, West Siang and 62-year-old Onam Pertin of Roing, Arunachal Pradesh.

Notably, Sige is the son of Posi Gamlin, who was arrested by the SIC on 14 November while Onam Pertin is Abu Pertin’s mother.

With these two arrests the total number of arrests has gone up to 34.

”After detailed interrogation and technical and financial analysis of suspects, SIC (Vig) PS has further arrested 01 (one) more persons in the case on 13/12/2022, all of them are Govt. officials. As such. the total arrests in the case now stand at 34 (Thirty-four),” an official statement from police said.

A few days back, the SIC had also arrested two additional government officials for their alleged involvement in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak case.

On the other hand, the Yupia Session Court on December 8 granted interim bail for 20 days to Tanyang Gaduk, 57, who was arrested in connection with the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leak scandal.

Gaduk has reportedly been granted bail due to his medical condition. He will travel to Gangaram Hospital in Delhi to receive medical attention.

On December 7, 2022, the Session Court heard a bail petition from up to six accused who had been arrested at the outset of the paper leak investigation.
